Changes made to film

Due to approaching deadlines I am not going to be able to have time to film a scene in my film, where the two girls are whispering in Lauren's ear so instead I am going to record them whispering and import it onto final cut. This I feel will still work effectively.
I have also altered a scene since putting on my voiceover. The end scene where she is trying to communicate with her family I was going to have shouting but I feel the voiceover over the top works very effectivey so I am going to use the voiceover all the way through instead.

Audience Feedback

I screened my rough cut of my film with audio of the voiceover now in. I received this feedback:

  • The drinking shots need to be more snappy.
  • The newspaper does not match (this I already know and I'm going to write about in my evaluation.
  • Newspaper needs to be black and white.
  • One of the alleyway shots needs to be brighter.
  • More diegetic sounds to make it clearer.

Voiceover

Voiceover 2

I wrote this Voice over myself, my inspiration mainly was from the voice over from Tom Geens short film 'Shame'. It starts with random facts about counting to fifteen and the capitol of a country, I tried to do something similiar by starting with a fact, about how people thought the earth was flat. I then tried to link the falling of the edge line, to connote death. The last line of the voice over is, 'I fell of the edge' signifying that she is dead.
I chose to use a voice over as it provided ancourage for the audience, so it was clearer what was happening, espically in the end scenes. The monologue increased the dramatic tension within the film and as i had only one scene with dialogue in it, the voiceover acted as the main protagonists train of thought, so there we no silences making it more entertaining for the audience.

More Audience Feedback

I screened my film to a few people, the film had no soundtrack or voiceover but the feedback I got was that it worked effectively in black and white and that one shot in the kitchen scene needed to be cut so that the transition from corridor to kitchen worked more effectively, which I have now done.
I also got feedback that it was not clear what was going on but this I put down to not having any soundtrack or voiceover on.
